The Rex Hartwig Cup is a junior tennis tournament held annually in Australia, named in honour of the legendary Australian player, Rex Hartwig. It is part of the De Minaur Junior Tour (formerly the Australian Junior Tour), attracting competitive players.
Rex Hartwig (1929–2022) was a celebrated Australian tennis player from the post-war “golden era” of Australian tennis. He was known for his crisp volleys and groundstrokes, which earned him the nickname ‘Wrecker.’
The Rex Hartwig Cup honours his legacy and his close connection to the Albury tennis community, much like the Margaret Court Cup celebrates her local roots and global achievements.
